After the opening of Tacos El Rey in April this year, BFS founder Per Meurling famously called the restaurant "Europe’s Best Taquería". It looks like the Mexican government shares this view as "Tacos El Rey" just had the honor of receiving the "M" rated seal, awarded to Mexican restaurants worldwide for the first time. The seal was presented to the restaurant by the Mexican Ambassador to Germany, Francisco Quiroga, on October 13th, 2025.

The trifecta founders team of Michael Heiden, Pablo Vasquez, and Jesus García were awarded the seal straight from the Mexican ambassador. This ceremony and the "M" seal are a collaboration of the Mexican Academy of Gastronomy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the embassies and consulates in Mexico. The seal itself signifies a recognition of excellence and authenticity in the field of Mexican gastronomy outside of Mexico.
